Lindsay served four years in the Royal Canadian Navy (1970-74) before a 40-year career with Nav Canada as an Air Traffic Controller. After retiring and relocating to Enderby from the Edmonton area in 2015, Lindsay has been a member of our Branch. He was elected as 1st Vice President for the 2020 term and assumed Presidency in 2021. His main focus as President is to ensure that Branch 98 continues to be front and center in Enderby, serving the needs of veterans, seniors, and the community at large.
Born in Arnhem, Netherlands, René traveled to Canada when he was just 18 years old, to stay with cousins in Prince George, and has never looked back. René became a successful entrepreneur, having multiple businesses and employees for over 35 years. He is also a family man with four grown children and eight grand babies.

René and his wife, Celeste, reside in Enderby and are actively involved at the Enderby Legion. Their son, Bill, has completed three tours to Afghanistan, and their nephew is in his second term as Infantry at PPCLI.
”The position of 1st Vice President is one I take great pride in, as my father was in the Dutch military for 38 years,” says René. “The Legion is very important to me. I will help to support my fellow Executives, employees, and volunteers of Branch 98. Thank you for this opportunity.”
René’s business acumen, wisdom, and assured leadership, combined with his commitment to the community and warm-heartedness, make René an essential and vital attribute to not only Branch 98, but also the many lives he’s touched throughout his prosperous career.
Eileen Johnson has lived in Enderby for 10 years and has been a part of the Royal Canadian Legion family for 16 years. Eileen and her husband operate a small farm where they raise meat birds, cows, pigs, pet goats, and laying hens. Eileen participates in the local farmers markets with her business Angel Acres, selling meat and eggs from t
