Established on September 26, 1961, the Veteran’s Holiday Camp is situated at Gardom Lake, BC. It is 18 km from Salmon Arm on Hwy 97B and 12 km from Enderby on Hwy 97A.
The camp was incorporated under the Societies Act of British Columbia in 1961, and was officially opened by Premier W.A.C. Bennett on July 30, 1966. The camp is managed by The Gardom Lake Holding Society consisting of the Zone Commander, Deputy Zone Commander and the Presidents of each Branch.
Our cabin was redesigned in 2021 and features a new bathroom and fully stocked kitchen. With an open concept living space and an enclosed sunroom, our cabin sleeps up to six people. Clean and bright, our cabin is situated right on the lake and has a new dock!
The camp consists of 12.5 acres located on the beach with approximately 1,000 ft of lakeshore. As well as the campsite area, there are 141.5 acres on the upper side of the road that contain hiking and walking trails.
Gardom Lake is fresh water and stocked with rainbow trout game fish each year. The lake is also home to turtles, black bears, bald eagles, white-tailed deer, loons, mallard ducks, hummingbirds and occasionally barn owls. Bring your binoculars!
There are two islands located on the lake which are accessible by kayak, canoe, rowboat or other human-powered craft (no powerboats are permitted).
The 2024 season at our cabin is fully booked. Please let us know if you would like to be placed on the waitlist.
Usual operating dates for the camp are from the first Sunday in May until the first Sunday after Thanksgiving. Bookings are scheduled for a six-day stay, arriving on Friday and departing on Thursday.
